I was totally creeped out by this. I said we weren't gong to eat there but were just bar hopping.
We had a party of six of us stop here for lunch yesterday after many miles of driving. They only had one employee, an older woman, working behind the bar. There was only one more table occupied with six others upon our arrival. We sat down at a high top table and waited for service. We were patient, as the employee acted very overwhelmed with our entrance into the establishment. We agreed that we'd just order a cold beer, ad it seemed getting a burger was going to almost be an impossible feat. Probably waited 15-20 more minutes before deciding to leave. The employee never made eye contact or acknowledged our departure. Think she was glad we left!
Creepiest bar experience ever.
He came back stating that the owner lives above the bar and called to yell at him for not taking our order. We did hear the other server call him to the phone saying it was the owner. We said that we were having a drink and would order in a while. He stressed that he was in trouble for not getting our order. We asked how the owner knew and he said that she watched surveillance cameras in the bar.
He kept coming back and talking to us and used foul language. I'm no prude and I swear like a girls' school graduate but I was appalled and uncomfortable at his use of the f word. My companion expressed disapproval of such language and he shrugged it off.
The food was awesome! I've never heard of peppercorn bread before, but it made for some really fantastic sandwiches! The brisket was great, the fries were great. The place is kind of in a deserted looking area and it looks like a run down bar, but it's worth the trip.
I went to the bar to pay, one drink unfinished just so we could leave, and he tried to short the bar by charging for bar vodka when he had used better. The other server told him that it had already been entered and he couldn't change it.
I fell guilty for not warning the couple who came in as I was leaving but figured they could have, and report, their own experience
On a Friday evening, had Marley's smoked brisket & cudighi sandwiches. The brisket had a spicy BBQ sauce and very tender meat. The cudighi is like an Italian burger but made with Italian sausage. Both were very good. One guy worked the bar, made the food and cleaned up. The place had lots of locals snd cold beer.
Server was unsteady on his feet and slurred a lot. Couldn't figure out or keep straight "either a vodka and tonic or vodka and lemonade if you don't have tonic". Kept coming to the table asking us to order. We didn't feel comfortable with him cooking so decided not to eat there.
He did continue to come back to the table every 2 or 3 minutes and shared that he was 34 and had only been in trouble once for a DUI.
Just awful. One bartender was drunk, the other covered for him. Left a drink unfinished and got the heck out of there without ordering food. Would not have wanted him to cook our meal.
